Our Training Facility

Get-N-Wet Scuba is Central Pennsylvania's premier scuba shop, and our training program reflects it. We're an SSI Pro Instructor Training Center, an SDI Dive Center, and our staff includes PADI instructors, which means no matter which certification path fits you best, we can teach it. We train every level of diver, from someone trying scuba for the very first time to working professionals pursuing their Instructor rating, and everything in between.

That range matters. A lot of dive shops can get a new diver certified. Fewer can walk that same person all the way from Try Scuba through Divemaster and Instructor without ever having to send them somewhere else. At Get-N-Wet Scuba, your training relationship can grow with you for as long as you want to keep diving.

Where We Train

Our pool sessions are held exclusively at the Derry Township Community Center pools in scenic Hershey, PA, just a short drive from our Harrisburg-area shop. We chose this facility deliberately. The water is crystal clear, which matters more than people realize when you're trying to learn buoyancy control or mask-clearing skills for the first time and need to actually see what you're doing.

The Community Center gives us two pools suited to different stages of training:

• The Leisure Pool has a 3-1/2 foot depth, ideal for sessions where students need to stand comfortably while working through initial skills.
• The Competition Pool runs 7 feet deep with a gradual descent to 12 feet, giving more experienced students room to practice skills in deeper water before heading to open water dives.

Students have full use of the Community Center's men's and women's locker rooms, complete with showers, so you can rinse off and change comfortably after every session. Parking on site is plentiful and secure, which makes getting to and from class one less thing to think about.

We outfit our classes with the newest and most up-to-date equipment available, so you're training on the same quality of gear you'll actually want to dive with once you're certified. Learning on well-maintained, current equipment also means fewer surprises and distractions while you're trying to focus on new skills.
