Memorial Lake State Park
18 Boundary Rd.
Grantville, PA 17028
Availability: In Stock
Join Get-N-Wet Scuba as we host a trash cleanup of Memorial Lake in collaboration with PA DCNR. Volunteers may sign up as a member of either the wet or dry team. Wet team members will be snorkeling and scuba diving the shore line of the lake under the supervision of a team captain. Dry team members will follow along the shore the line from trails collecting litter and consolidating trash at a designated drop-off point.
At the end of the day, DCNR will be weighing and recording the trash we collected as a part of a long-term seasonal trash metric. This will help the rangers determine how much trash the lake collects over the course of a season.
Our meeting location will be at the Middle Road boat ramp located here.
Whether you're looking to get wet or stay dry, come for the day or stay for a few hours, your efforts help conserve a community resource we all hold dear. Call the dive center if you have any questions.
Event Requirements:
- All participants must register no later than April 6th.

Memorial Lake History
Memorial Lake State Park’s 230 acres are near the base of Blue Mountain in East Hanover Township, Lebanon County.
The park is surrounded by Fort Indiantown Gap, the headquarters for the Pennsylvania Army and Air National Guard.
Fort Indiantown Gap derived its name from the American Indian village known as Indiantown and the gap in the Blue Mountain where Indiantown was located. Indian artifacts found in the Lebanon and Swatara Valleys indicate an aboriginal presence as early as 2,500 BC.
Established in 1931, Fort Indiantown Gap was built as a National Guard training center. During World War II, it was used as a training site for seven Army divisions, and also as a demobilization site once the war was over. Fort Indiantown Gap later trained large numbers of soldiers and officers during the wars in Korea, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf War.
Memorial Lake was established in 1945 in memory and honor of Pennsylvania National Guard soldiers who served in World War I and World War II.
In 1955, Memorial Lake was transferred to the Department of Forest and Waters, now the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and became Memorial Lake State Park. It continues to provide recreational opportunities for military personnel as well as civilians.
