Lake Hydra's water sits around 70 degrees at the 25-foot training platform, and the site includes submerged platforms down to 28 feet, sunken wrecks for navigation and exploration practice, and walk-in entry via a ramp and steps rather than a boat launch. It's a purpose-built environment for divers who want to log real skills practice or simply enjoy a well-maintained, wreck-rich dive site without leaving Pennsylvania.

About Lake Hydra

Lake Hydra is a veteran-owned and operated inland dive training facility that also provides complimentary access to first responders and search and recovery teams for their training needs. Beyond the dive platforms and wrecks, the site includes an on-site fill station. Lake Hydra's own site hours run Thursday and Friday from 9am to 4pm, Saturday from 8am to 5pm, and Sunday from 8am to 4pm; it's closed Monday through Wednesday. Do I need to buy a Lake Hydra entrance pass separately?

What if I need scuba gear or a dry suit?

Kit rental (BCD, wetsuit, regulator, wrist dive computer, hood, and gloves) is available for $50.00. Dry suit rental, which requires certification, is available for $80.00 and includes the dry suit, undergarments, and rock boots.

What paperwork do I need before diving?

All divers must show a certification card and complete four forms before any in-water diving: Diver Medical, Assumption of Risk & Liability, Responsible Diver Code, and Student Learning Agreement.
