You need to be a Divemaster or equivalent to join SSI's 3-step Instructor Training approach, and the Instructor Training Course (ITC) at Get-N-Wet Scuba in Harrisburg, PA is where that training begins in earnest. This 10-day program includes the Assistant Instructor course and digital learning, and prepares you to enroll in an Instructor Evaluation (IE) — the final step to becoming a certified SSI Open Water Instructor, qualified to teach programs like Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Enriched Air Nitrox, Diver Stress & Rescue, and Dive Guide on your own.
If you'd rather build experience gradually, the three parts of the pathway — Assistant Instructor, ITC, and IE — can also be completed as individual steps, on your own timeline and schedule. Pro fees and Instructor Evaluation (IE) fees are extra and not included in the ITC price.
