Hi! My name is Derek. I can't believe this is MY Divemaster candidate profile! I started my diving ADDICTION, yes I said addiction, in 2024 because my wife bought me my Open Water certification class for my 39th birthday. This was something I've wanted to do since I was 16 years old when I got to try SCUBA diving in a pool in Bali, Indonesia. Did I say wife? I'd be remiss if I failed to mention that I am married to the love of my life and mother to the most amazing, smart, talented,adventurous and sometimes crazy daughter a Dad could ask for. Enough about my personal life and more about why I decided to take the steps to become an SSI Divemaster. Because I absolutely love SCUBA diving! Warm water, not so warm water, deep, shallow, great visibity, limited visibity, current, no current, lakes, quarries, oceans, it doesn't matter! I love it all, and I want to share my passion for SCUBA diving with YOU!
